The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, will respond in due course to recent comments made by former Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, his senior aide has said.
Lere Olayinka, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, stated on Monday that the minister would not leave Tambuwal’s criticism of him and President Bola Tinubu unanswered.
Tambuwal, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today last Friday, said his political decisions were guided by principles rather than personal relationships.
He added that, if forced to choose, he would back former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over Wike in a presidential contest.

Addressing journalists’ inquiries, Olayinka said: “Apart from what he said against the Minister, Tambuwal also cast aspersions on President Tinubu, which will not go unanswered.
The Minister will respond accordingly and will tell Nigerians what a betrayal is and what it means to have integrity. Till then, let’s keep our fingers crossed.”
The statement underscored rising tensions between Wike and Tambuwal amid ongoing discussions over political alignments ahead of the 2027 elections.
