According to NAFDAC Resident Media Consultant, Sayo Akintola on Sunday, the haul included 1.3 million bottles of codeine syrup, 12.6 million Tramadol tablets, 9.3 million falsified Diclofenac tablets, 280 packs of fake Hyergra tablets, and four containers of unregistered tomato paste.
Prof. Adeyeye commended Customs for the interception, warning unscrupulous importers that fake and unsafe products would be stopped at the borders.
She urged Nigerians to report suspicious products and warned that such goods pose serious health risks, including poisoning, chronic diseases, and cancer.
She stressed that protecting public health requires cooperation between government agencies, organisations, and the public.
