Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has launched a scathing attack on members of the newly formed opposition coalition, describing them as “disgruntled” individuals frustrated by their current absence from power.
Speaking during an appearance on Sunrise Daily, a breakfast programme on Channels Television, Governor Radda criticised the coalition leaders, many of whom, he claimed, were once part of the same government they now oppose.
“Let’s be realistic. Let’s tell ourselves the truth. The time for deceiving Nigerians is over,” Radda said.
“We know the track record of everyone. We know what they have done when they were in government, and they are now crying and shouting because they are outside of the government.”
His remarks came in response to the unveiling of the opposition bloc, which recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its political platform.
The coalition named former Senate President David Mark as interim national chairman, former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola as secretary, and Bolaji Abdullahi as its spokesman.

In his acceptance speech, Mark had accused the APC-led federal government of reducing Nigeria to a de facto one-party state.
Radda, however, challenged the coalition to focus less on criticism and more on providing concrete solutions and policy alternatives to Nigerians.
“If we are coming with something new to Nigerians, every Nigerian is going to embrace it,” he said.
“Let them come and tell Nigerians… how they are going to run the government, and with what resources.”
He further questioned whether the coalition could credibly promise to reinstate fuel subsidies and, if so, explain the financial roadmap for doing so.
Governor Radda’s comments underscore growing tensions between the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and newly energised opposition figures seeking to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the next general elections.
