The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, has dismissed rumours claiming he has stepped down from his position.
The false reports, which circulated widely on social media late Saturday, alleged that Akume had been removed and replaced by Hadiza Bala Usman.
In a statement released by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Akume branded the claims as baseless and deceptive.
The statement, signed by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information & Public Relations, reaffirmed that Akume remains the SGF and continues to enjoy the full confidence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“The purported removal of the SGF from office is only a fabrication and a figment of the imagination of mischief makers,” the statement said, urging the public and media to verify information before sharing.
Senator Akume continues to play a pivotal role in formulating and implementing policies under the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
