Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, to personally express his appreciation for their warm birthday messages.
The visit comes just days after Governor Sanwo-Olu celebrated his 60th birthday, which drew widespread goodwill messages from leaders and citizens across the country.
Sharing a statement on X (formerly Twitter) following the visit, Sanwo-Olu wrote: “I had the honour of visiting His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu and the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, to personally thank them for their kind and thoughtful birthday wishes.”
The governor noted that the occasion also presented an opportunity to celebrate with his birthday mate and Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
“It was a pleasure to celebrate with my birthday mate, the Chief of Staff, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu also extended his birthday felicitations to the Group Chief Executive Officer of Oando Plc, Mr Wale Tinubu, who marked his 58th birthday on the same day.
Earlier this week, President Tinubu had congratulated the Lagos State Governor on his milestone birthday. In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised Sanwo-Olu’s dedication to public service and commitment to transforming Lagos.
“Governor Sanwo-Olu is a committed public servant who has remained faithful to the vision of developing Lagos into a thriving, modern city,” the statement read.
