Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has urged Christian pilgrims travelling to the Holy Land to use the opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and return as carriers of His presence.
The governor made the call during the farewell ceremony for the pilgrims in Jos, where he emphasised the transformative potential of the journey.
“This pilgrimage is more than just a journey; it is an opportunity for a life-changing encounter with God. May this experience positively transform your lives, benefit your families, and leave a legacy for generations to come,” he said.
Governor Mutfwang highlighted that true Christianity reflected in character and productivity at work, encouraging the pilgrims to embody these virtues during and after their spiritual journey.

He also announced that the state government had facilitated the pilgrimage and was engaging the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to expand the runway at the Jos Airport to allow international flights directly from Jos.
The Executive Chairman of the Christian Pilgrim Welfare Board, Bishop Jwan Zhumbes, lauded the governor for sponsoring the highest number of pilgrims in the country.

He called on the pilgrims to represent Plateau State as worthy ambassadors and return spiritually renewed.
During the ceremony, Rev. Associate Professor Caleb Dami delivered a sermon titled “New Jerusalem Dweller”, drawing from the books of Hebrews and Revelation.
He reminded the pilgrims of the sacrifices required to visit earthly Jerusalem while urging them to aspire to dwell in the heavenly Jerusalem, made accessible through Christ’s ultimate sacrifice.
The pilgrims also received farewell prayers from the State Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Polycarp Lubi. They will be led to the Holy Land by Rev. Professor Pandam Yamsat.
This marks another milestone in Plateau State’s commitment to fostering spiritual growth and global connectivity for its citizens.
