Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has reiterated his administration’s unwavering support for the Nigerian Army, emphasising its pivotal role in ensuring a safe and secure environment.
In a statement issued by Gyang Bere, the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the governor, Mutfwang, represented by Ziphion Chrysanthus, Liaison Director for MDAs and Security Agencies, conveyed this assurance during the Centenary Celebration of the Nigerian Army Depot.
The event, which marked 100 years of excellence in training Nigeria’s finest soldiers, took place at the RSM Hama Kim Parade Ground in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The ceremony also featured the Passing Out Parade of the 87 Regular Recruits Intake, a significant milestone aimed at bolstering national security.

Governor Mutfwang congratulated the Nigerian Army for its remarkable contributions to the nation’s security architecture and lauded its dedication to producing highly skilled personnel capable of defending Nigeria’s sovereignty.
He underscored the indispensable role of peace and security in driving economic growth and national development.
He highlighted the induction of the new recruits as a crucial step in enhancing the Army’s operational capacity to combat insecurity and foster national stability.

Parents of the graduating recruits expressed profound gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for his support, which included a cash donation to ease the new soldiers’ transition into their respective military formations.
The Centenary Celebration also underscored the legacy of excellence upheld by the Depot Nigerian Army, which has remained a cornerstone of national security for over a century.
