Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has announced that the newly approved minimum wage for workers in the state will take effect from December 1, 2024.
This follows the governor’s approval of a monthly minimum wage of ₦75,000 for workers, exceeding the ₦70,000 benchmark agreed upon by the Federal Government and labor unions.
In a statement shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, Governor Adeleke revealed that the first payment will include one month’s arrears for all public servants in the state.

He further announced a ₦25,000 pension increase across the board for all pensioners, describing the decision as a gesture to support senior citizens during challenging economic times.
“The improved minimum wage and pension adjustments reflect our commitment to the welfare of our workers and retirees, especially in these economically challenging times,” the governor stated.
