Talented musician, Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has stated that his colleagues and former record label mates, Wizkid and Burna Boy never helped him at any point in his career.
He explained that only his former record label boss, Banky W, Olamide and Timaya have helped him in the past.
He, however, acknowledged Burna Boy’s support.
The ‘Shake Body’ crooner, on his X handle on Monday, wrote, “Put some respect on my name… I don tell una the only person sef wey help me na Olamide and Timaya and Banky W… much respect to Burna … you guys always love to see artiste go against each other but ama set the record straight … I’m a don with this music and all I wanna do is make Music and stay away from all that negative toxic bullshit … so love your fav and stop cooking up bullshit stories…”
Taking to the comment section, an X user with the handle @Perfect_Mipo claimed that Wizkid made Skales.
“Wizkid made you,” he wrote.
Skales rebuffed, “Ask am make him tell una how … got respect for him but he dint help me … if anything Banky deserves the praise and respect for believing in teenagers.”
Another comment insinuated that Burna Boy helped Skales career secure a boost, the latter responded: ”Listen I will defend myself always … I love Burna but don’t you ever say he helped me … no one helped me! Only my fans and God’s grace .. we do collabo wey all of us benefit from .. if the thing no benefit us we no go dey perform for our different sets.”
Skales emphasized his desire to focus on making music and avoiding negative energy, stating, “I’m a don with this music and all I wanna do is make Music and stay away from all that negative toxic bullshit.”
Skales and Wizkid were the first artists signed to Banky W’s Empire Mates Entertainment, EME, in the 2010s but they exited the label long after attaining stardom.
