Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, says he is awaiting federal government approval for the take-off of his proposed security outfit named “Iru Ekun Security Network”.
“Iru Ekun,” which translates to “the tail of a leopard” in Yoruba, is designed to operate as a regional security structure aimed at tackling criminal activities in the South-West.
In a statement issued on Monday, Igboho said the outfit has already submitted the necessary documentation to the federal government and is awaiting approval for official commencement.
“We have submitted all the required documents for our registered security firm, Iru Ekun Security Network and only waiting for the Federal Government approval which will be granted soon,” he said.
He said the group is prepared to collaborate with existing security agencies, including the Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in addressing insecurity.
According to him, the initiative is focused on flushing out criminals, kidnappers and other armed groups operating in forests and rural communities across the South-West.

Igboho also expressed readiness to comply with regulatory measures introduced by state authorities to oversee private security operations.
He referenced a recent executive order signed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, which seeks to regulate security-related groups operating within the state.
“We are also ready to comply with the new Executive Order issued by Governor Seyi Makinde to regulate the activities of private security concerns,” he said.
Makinde had last week signed the order to streamline the operations of groups involved in security services, citing the increasing sophistication of insecurity and the need for better coordination.
The governor said the directive was aimed at ensuring all security-related organisations operate within a clear legal and operational framework to promote peace, order and the rule of law.
Igboho added that improved security is essential for socioeconomic development, particularly in rural areas that serve as major agricultural hubs.
