Nollywood actress Bimbo Ademoye was recently involved in a tense confrontation on a movie set after a group of suspected area boys reportedly stormed her outdoor filming location, demanding money.
The incident, which has since gone viral, was captured in a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user identified as Usmanashafe.
In the footage, the actress is seen standing her ground while addressing the group, who insisted that they must be “settled” before filming could continue in their neighbourhood.

Despite the pressure, Bimbo remained composed, though visibly upset, as she confronted the men over their approach.
She made it clear that she was not against supporting them financially but strongly rejected what she described as their entitled and disrespectful demand.
“I am a street girl, let me tell you. Ask around when it comes to matters of the street, I like settling boys. But you don’t come to me and start telling me the amount to give,” she said.
Her response highlighted a common challenge faced by filmmakers shooting on location in parts of Nigeria, where informal groups sometimes demand payment before allowing production activities to proceed.
While such “settlements” are often seen as a way of maintaining peace or gaining local cooperation, disputes can arise when expectations are not aligned.
Bimbo further criticised the tone of the confrontation, pointing out what she perceived as a lack of humility from the individuals involved.
“Yes, you came to beg, and you’re even being proud of it,” she added.
The situation escalated when one of the men reportedly threatened to switch off her camera equipment if their demands were not met.
The threat appeared to further provoke the actress, who responded sharply, dismissing the warning.
“Camera that nobody in your generation has,” she fired back, asserting her authority on set and refusing to be intimidated.
The video has since sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users praising Bimbo Ademoye for her boldness and composure under pressure.
Others, however, pointed to the broader issue of security and extortion faced by filmmakers and content creators working in public spaces.
Industry observers note that such incidents are not uncommon, especially during outdoor shoots where production teams may have limited control over their environment.
In some cases, local arrangements are made in advance to avoid disruptions, but unexpected confrontations can still occur.
Bimbo Ademoye, known for her vibrant personality and strong screen presence, has built a reputation as one of Nollywood’s most dynamic actresses.
Her handling of the situation has been interpreted by many as a reflection of her confidence and ability to navigate difficult moments beyond the camera.
The incident also raises ongoing concerns about the need for better structure, security, and regulation within Nigeria’s film production ecosystem, particularly for on-location shoots.
While it remains unclear how the situation was eventually resolved, the viral clip has once again drawn attention to the realities behind the scenes of filmmaking in Nigeria, where creativity sometimes meets unexpected challenges on the streets.
