Yayi said, “If a leader succeeds, his followers are playing the role. And if a leader fails, his followers are playing the role.”
He urged members to see themselves as one family from now on.
“From today onward, we are one big indivisible family. There is no winner or loser here. We are speaking with one voice,” he said.
He also said he had not promised any position to anyone and had not entered into any agreement with individuals.
He expressed belief in the leadership of the party at both state and regional levels and assured the gathering that no one would be forced into any decision.
Yayi said, “I have not promised anybody any position. I have not negotiated anything at all. Everybody that is here will be adequately represented at all levels.”
He also explained that the meeting was necessary to bring all stakeholders together and strengthen unity within Ogun West, noting that several private meetings had taken place before to discuss the way forward for the district.
Yayi further assured aspirants and party members that they would all be carried along in the political process.
He said, “We are not going to leave anyone behind. Even if you want a position and you don’t get it, we will carry you along.”
On the 2027 elections, Yayi said the district would work to secure victory for Tinubu and other candidates of the party.
“We will do everything in our power to ensure that we win the next general election for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice,” he stated.
He called for calm and trust among members, stressing that there was no cause for alarm and that the process would be fair to all.
