There is a mass resignation of some notable members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party across the 177 wards in Ekiti State, as the governorship election in the state is barely two months away.
The resignation was led by a leading governorship aspirant in the party, Prince Funsho Ayeni, who was until now one of the biggest financiers of the party.
Among those who resigned were the State Women leader, Chief Eniola Oshuntokun, State Vice Chairman, Hon Ayo Ogungbuyi and other State Executive members of the PDP.
Others are former chairman, Eng Agboola Alaba, and former members of the State Working committee including Jackson Adebayo, who served as the State Public Relations Officer of the party a few years ago.
Speaking with journalists, Prince Funsho Ayeni, hinged his team’s resignation from the party on the unending leadership differences in the party which have made it practically unwise to practice politics on its platform, adding that the current political atmosphere seems not favourable to the party again.
He, however, hinted that he and his team would soon make their new political destination known to the public.
