A prominent member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has declared that President Bola Tinubu will fail in his bid to remain in office in 2027.
Rhodes-Vivour who made this declaration on Wednesday on Channels Television claimed that the president is currently attempting to disrupt opposition parties because he knows he cannot win a fair election.
He based his prediction on recent data, noting that the president’s path to victory has closed.
Rhodes-Vivour pointed out that public support is shifting, particularly in regions that were once strongholds for the ruling party.
He said, “I have looked at data, we have polling that is going on now, credible polling — there is no pathway for the president to emerge victorious, that is why we are seeing all these shenanigans.”

Rhodes-Vivour emphasised that the North, which provided the president with 62 percent of his votes in the last election, is now turning away.
He described the loss of support in that region as a “tsunami” and criticised the administration for focusing only on a small group of associates.
Rhodes-Vivour called the current leadership a “city boys’ government” that does not serve the interests of the country or even the South-West region.
He further alleged that the president is intentionally causing trouble within opposition groups, including the ADC, to make himself the only viable option.
He stated, “The best pathway is to create an environment where he is the only candidate on the ballot for the presidency. That is what he is trying to achieve, but he is not going to succeed.”
Rhodes-Vivour’s comments followed recent actions by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), which removed certain officials from the party’s list on its portal.
The ADC has called this a misinterpretation of a court order. To protest these developments, major political figures like Peter Obi, Atiku Abubakar, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso joined a protest at the INEC headquarters in Abuja earlier this week.
They argued that the move was an attempt to weaken the opposition ahead of the 2027 polls.
