Singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has criticised Nigerian pastors for what he described as their silence over the continued killings of Christians in parts of the country.
The singer reacted following the recent attack during Palm Sunday in Jos, Plateau State, where suspected gunmen reportedly killed several people.

In a video shared online, Portable accused church leaders of failing to speak out strongly enough or organise protests in response to the violence. He argued that many pastors prioritise their own safety while their members continue to suffer.
“Why are Nigerian pastors not fighting for Christians?” he asked. “They use bulletproof cars yet their followers are dying.”
Portable also questioned why religious leaders had not led demonstrations to demand stronger action from the government, including protests directed at Aso Rock.
The singer further claimed that leaders of other religious groups would respond more forcefully if members of their communities were being attacked similarly.
His comments have added to the growing public reaction to the latest violence in Plateau State, with many celebrities and public figures criticising both the government and religious leaders over the insecurity situation.
