The Nigeria Christian Civil Chaplain Corps has called for the integration of spiritual intervention with conventional military strategies in addressing Nigeria’s persistent security challenges.
The Corps Commanding Officer, Daniel Joe Alimi, made the appeal in a statement issued on Wednesday, stressing that national transformation requires both physical and spiritual efforts.
Alimi argued that Nigeria’s path to stability and progress extends beyond political solutions, emphasising the need for moral and spiritual renewal across the country.
“Nigeria’s transformation is not just a political process—it is a spiritual responsibility. When we align our hearts with God and our actions with purpose, national restoration becomes inevitable. Nigeria is a sovereign nation under God, as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.
The statement highlighted the chaplain’s continued advocacy for spiritual reawakening, noting that his leadership reflects a firm belief that Nigeria can overcome its current challenges through a combination of faith-driven values and strategic governance.
According to the organisation, Alimi’s approach centres on promoting unity, moral discipline, and collaboration among security agencies and other stakeholders. His leadership, it said, operates at the intersection of faith, patriotism, and national service, offering a complementary perspective to ongoing security efforts.
“In a time when Nigeria continues to navigate complex security and moral challenges, one voice has steadily emerged at the intersection of faith, patriotism, and national service,” the statement noted, referring to Alimi’s role in fostering national consciousness.
The group maintained that while military operations remain critical in combating insecurity, sustainable peace also depends on addressing underlying moral and societal issues. It stressed that spiritual revival could play a vital role in rebuilding trust, strengthening communities, and promoting ethical leadership.
The call comes amid ongoing concerns over insecurity in various parts of Nigeria, with stakeholders increasingly advocating multi-dimensional approaches to restoring peace and stability.
Alimi urged Nigerians to embrace unity and collective responsibility, adding that lasting national development would require both effective governance and a renewed commitment to shared values.
