The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) Appeal Board has confirmed that Senegal forfeited the AFCON 2025 final, awarding Morocco a 3–0 victory and officially crowning them champions of the tournament.
CAF explained that the decision followed an investigation which determined that Senegal breached key regulations, particularly Articles 82 and 84. As a result, Morocco’s appeal was fully upheld, and the earlier ruling by the Disciplinary Board was overturned.

Despite being awarded the title, Morocco also faced sanctions for incidents that occurred during the match. The federation was fined for issues involving ball boys, crowd-related misconduct such as laser use, and interference around the VAR review area. While some fines were reduced, the penalty for VAR interference remained at $100,000.
In addition, Ismaël Saibari was found guilty of misconduct. His punishment was reduced to a two-match suspension, with one match suspended, and his initial $100,000 fine was cancelled.
Overall, the ruling brings a dramatic and controversial conclusion to the AFCON 2025 tournament, confirming Morocco as champions while highlighting disciplinary breaches on both sides.
