The General Christopher Musa, Minister of Defence, is currently convening a high-level meeting with Nigeria’s service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
According to NEW DAILY PRIME, the discussions are focused on the escalating insecurity across the country, particularly in the North-East, where military installations have come under repeated attacks in recent days.
The meeting follows the tragic deaths of three Nigerian Army Commanding Officers, all holding the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, who were recently killed by terrorists in Borno State.
Among the top military officials attending the session are the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen Olufemi Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke; and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Idi Abass.
Key security agencies, including the National Intelligence Agency, are also represented, highlighting the government’s coordinated approach to addressing the country’s security challenges.
The outcome of the meeting is expected to guide strategic military and intelligence measures aimed at curbing attacks and restoring stability in vulnerable regions.
