Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has said that human beings can be more wicked than snakes, as he shared his experience following his release from prison.
The actor made the statement three months after regaining his freedom from a Lagos State correctional facility, where he served a prison sentence over allegations of sexual assault brought against him by fellow entertainer Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as Princess.

The controversy began in 2021 when Princess accused Baba Ijesha of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter at her residence. The case sparked widespread public outrage and legal proceedings that eventually led to the actor’s conviction.
After serving his sentence, Baba Ijesha was released in November 2025 upon completing his five-year jail term.
Speaking publicly for the first time since his release, the actor addressed the issue in a viral music video where he shared his own account of the events that led to his imprisonment. In the video, he alleged that he was framed and betrayed by people he trusted.
According to him, the incident began when Princess, whom he described as a close friend, invited him to her house.
“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman,” he said in the video.
Baba Ijesha claimed that the invitation involved a discussion about a potential movie role. He alleged that he was told to prepare for a different type of character because the project was meant to elevate his career.
He further stated that when he arrived at the location, he encountered several people present in the house and began rehearsing what he believed was part of a movie production.
“The incident happened on April 21, 2021. Princess, who was my friend, called me that she was preparing my favourite food, pounded yam and egusi soup with bush meat,” he said.
He added that he believed he had been invited for a film project, only to later realise that the situation had taken a different turn.
According to him, he eventually found himself in detention facilities, including Kirikiri Prison, after the allegations were made.
Baba Ijesha also used the opportunity to warn fans and members of the public about trusting people too easily, saying the experience taught him difficult lessons about friendship and betrayal.
“Please my fans be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. Flee from them because the world is evil and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” he said.
The actor’s remarks have generated renewed discussions online about the controversial case and his time in prison, with reactions from supporters and critics alike continuing to surface on social media.
