Nigerian Fuji artiste Shanko Rasheed Atanda has announced the death of his first son, Jamaldeen Atanda.
The grieving musician shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page on Friday, expressing profound sorrow over the loss.
He described the pain of losing a child as one no parent ever wishes to endure and offered prayers for his son’s peaceful rest.

“So sad, no parent prays to lose a child in their lifetime but Alhamdulilahi Jamaldeen Emrs Atanda JNR rest well my champ. I will surely tell you all about it when I see you again. Omo Ola sun reeee,” he wrote.
Shanko did not disclose details surrounding the circumstances or timing of Jamaldeen’s death.
The tragic development comes just months after the singer celebrated his son’s 12th birthday in December with an emotional tribute. In the earlier post, he praised Jamaldeen for the joy he brought into his life and the pride he felt watching him grow.
“Happy Birthday to my amazing first son! You changed my life the moment you arrived and continue to make me proud every single day. I love the young man you’re becoming,” he had written at the time.
Following Friday’s announcement, Shanko’s social media pages were flooded with messages of condolence from fans, colleagues and members of the entertainment industry, who extended support and prayers during his time of grief.
