Pope Francis has strongly condemned the deportation policies of US President Donald Trump, describing them as a “major crisis” that “damages the dignity of men and women.”

In a letter to US bishops on Tuesday, the Pope urged the faithful of the Catholic Church and all people of good will to resist narratives that discriminate against migrants and refugees, causing unnecessary suffering to these vulnerable groups.

The Pope’s remarks continue his ongoing advocacy for migrant rights and humanitarian treatment for those displaced worldwide.
