Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Dutch counterpart, Dick Schoof have condemned on Friday what they described as a premeditated attack on Israeli football fans in Amsterdam.
A statement by his office on Friday said, “Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that he views the premeditated anti-Semitic attack against Israeli citizens with utmost seriousness and requested increased security for the Jewish community in the Netherlands.”
The Dutch Prime Minister, Dick Schoof also Friday denounced “unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis”, following clashes that reportedly erupted after a football match in Amsterdam overnight.
“I followed with horror the coverage from Amsterdam. Completely unacceptable anti-Semitic attacks on Israelis,” he wrote on X, adding that he had spoken with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu to assure him that “the perpetrators will be tracked down and prosecuted.”
