Manchester City captain Kyle Walker is set to join AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season, with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The 34-year-old defender, who has made 316 appearances for City since his £50m move from Tottenham in 2017, will travel to Italy for a medical.

Walker, a six-time Premier League champion under Pep Guardiola, last played for City on 4 January against West Ham. Following the match, he expressed a desire to explore opportunities abroad, favoring a move to Serie A over the Saudi Pro League.

The England international, with 93 caps, has been a key figure at City, serving as joint-captain since 2023 as part of a leadership group elected by teammates.

AC Milan, restricted by Italy’s registration rules, prioritized Walker over Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford as their sole UK signing this window.

Meanwhile, Manchester City have spent £123m in January, securing Egypt forward Omar Marmoush from Frankfurt for £59m, Vitor Reis from Palmeiras for £30m, and Abdukodir Khusanov from Lens for £33.6m.

Walker’s move signals a new chapter in his illustrious career as he looks to make an impact in Serie A.
