Nigeria’s Flying Eagles showcased resilience, coming from behind to secure a 3-1 victory against Niger Republic in the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B U-20 tournament in Togo. The win not only earned them a place in the final but also secured their qualification for the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

After trailing early on, the Flying Eagles turned the game around under the guidance of head coach Aliyu Suberu. They will now face their longtime rivals, Ghana, in a highly anticipated final on Wednesday. Ghana booked their spot in the final with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Côte d’Ivoire in the other semi-final on Sunday.

This tournament is significant for the Flying Eagles, who are aiming to defend their WAFU Zone B title after winning it in 2022 under former coach Ladan Bosso. The upcoming U-20 AFCON will double as a qualifying event for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, adding extra stakes to the competition.

The Nigeria-Ghana clash promises an exciting showdown as the two West African giants meet once again in pursuit of regional glory.
