Chidera Ejuke has expressed his excitement after making his long-awaited return to the pitch following a significant hamstring injury that sidelined him for approximately three months. The 27-year-old Nigerian winger, who sustained the injury during Sevilla’s La Liga clash with Barcelona last October, was forced to watch from the sidelines as he worked tirelessly to recover.

Ejuke marked his return to competitive action in Sevilla’s hard-fought 2-1 victory over Girona last weekend. The talented winger came on in the final stages of the match, playing for eight minutes and contributing to the team’s effort as they secured all three points.

Speaking about his comeback, Ejuke shared his delight at being back in action:
“I was happy to be with the team again because I hadn’t been in this routine for a long time. I was excited to contribute in the final minutes. It felt like a good step forward for me,” he told El Correo de Andalucia.

Ejuke’s absence had been a notable one for Sevilla, as his skill and flair on the wing were missed. The former CSKA Moscow star has made 10 league appearances for the Rojiblancos this season, scoring once. His return to fitness is a significant boost for manager José Luis Mendilibar, as the team looks to improve its standing in La Liga.

Although Ejuke’s time on the pitch against Girona was brief, it provided a glimpse of the potential he brings to the squad. His pace, creativity, and ability to stretch the opposition make him a key player for Sevilla, and his return is expected to bring more dynamism to their attacking play in the second half of the season.

Sevilla will hope that Ejuke’s comeback marks the beginning of a strong run of performances from the winger, as the club looks to challenge for a European spot. With a full recovery now behind him, Ejuke will be eager to make up for lost time and help Sevilla achieve their goals for the season.
