President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming Nigeria, pledging to lead the nation to the “Promised Land” through bold reforms and collaborative governance.

He expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support of the National Assembly, which he said has been pivotal to the administration’s progress over the past 19 months.

The President made these remarks yesterday while receiving Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, and former principal officers of the National Assembly at his Lagos residence.

The meeting, part of a New Year homage, was followed by a similar visit from the Nigeria Governors Forum.

Acknowledging the lawmakers’ contributions, Tinubu promised to intensify efforts to make courageous and innovative decisions for national development.

“We have a saying in Yoruba that it is only a courageous dog that will capture the animal in the bush,” he added, emphasising the administration’s resolve to confront Nigeria’s challenges head-on.

In his remarks ,Akpabio lauded the President’s bold reforms and assured him of the National Assembly’s steadfast support.

“On this journey of restoration, transformation, and rebuilding the nation, you are not alone. The National Assembly stands firmly with you,” Akpabio said.

He highlighted the economic strides achieved under Tinubu’s leadership, including improved investor confidence, the oversubscription of Nigeria’s Eurobond, and advancements in ease of doing business.

“Investors remain interested in Nigeria because of your leadership, and we will continue to smile as the benefits materialize,” he added.

More so, Abbas praised Tinubu’s respect and support for the legislature, noting the historic representation of former National Assembly members in key positions within the administration.

“The National Assembly today is more united and fulfilled than ever before,” Abbas said. “There is nothing we have ever requested for the National Assembly that you have not obliged. This is commendable, and we thank you for bringing more succour to the poor.”

The Speaker also expressed optimism about the country’s future, predicting that 2025 would mark a turning point when Nigerians fully reap the benefits of the administration’s reforms.
