Tinubu to depart Abuja for ADSW 2025 tomorrow 

President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja on Saturday, January 11, to attend the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW 2025).  

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, announced this today via a statement on his X account (formerly Twitter).  

He revealed that President Tinubu received an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, to participate in the Summit, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi from January 12 to 18.  

Onanuga further stated that the Summit will convene global leaders to accelerate sustainable development and foster socioeconomic progress.

He added that the event, themed “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” will provide a platform for policymakers, business executives, and civil society leaders to explore strategies for transitioning to a sustainable economy and ushering in a new era of shared prosperity.

 ”ADSW, a testament to the power of collaboration, has been held annually for over 15 years. It provides a global platform to foster multi-stakeholder cooperation in addressing global challenges and accelerating growth.

 ”It has birthed high-value agreements and strategic partnerships between governments, industry leaders, and clean energy pioneers worldwide, driving impactful alliances and advancing the sustainability agenda worldwide”, he said. 

Onanuga stated that President Tinubu, at the event, would emphasise his administration’s reforms, particularly in energy sufficiency, transportation, public health, and economic development.  

He stated that the Nigerian leader and his entourage would engage with the emirate’s leadership to discuss key issues of mutual interest between the two nations.  

According to him, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, along with other senior government officials, would accompany the President.  

Onanuga added that Tinubu was scheduled to return to Nigeria on Thursday, January 16.
