Following speculation on social media regarding her resignation, the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ngozi Odu, has urged the public to disregard the claim, describing it as false.

In a statement issued by her Head of Press, Owupele Benebo, the claim was described as baseless, while reaffirming Prof. Odu’s commitment to carrying out her duties as Deputy Governor of the state.

However, Benebo noted that Prof. Odu remains committed to supporting Governor Siminalayi Fubara in delivering democratic governance to the people of the state.

The statement read, “Contrary to these baseless claims, Her Excellency remains committed to her duties as Deputy Governor, a position she was duly elected to serve alongside His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, the Executive Governor of Rivers State .

“Her exemplary leadership and expertise have been invaluable to the administration, and she remains steadfast in her commitment and support for His Excellency, Sir Dr. Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.

“We urge the public to disregard these unfounded reports, which are clearly the product of malicious speculation.

“Her Excellency, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, DSSRS, has not resigned and has no intention of doing so,” Benebo concluded.
