The Presidency has dismissed widespread reports alleging that President Bola Tinubu dismissed three ministers.
The reports claimed that the President relieved the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu; the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Abubakar; and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, of their duties.

In a post on his X page, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the story as entirely fabricated and devoid of any factual basis.
He called on security agencies to take swift action against fake news websites and platforms, as well as individuals who irresponsibly circulate unverified reports and contribute to their viral spread.
He wrote: “Security agencies must urgently take action against fake news websites and platforms and the purveyors who fail to check the authenticity of the stories and make them go viral.

“Press freedom and freedom of speech will not exist when some people can wake up and concoct their news and narratives without regard for truth. Fake news is simply licentiousness and must be criminalised.”
The New Daily Prime gathered that, as of the time of filing this report, all three ministers mentioned in the story remain in their respective positions.
