Ahead of 2027 general elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed confidence that it will win more governorship seats and reclaim of the federal government.

This was made known by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) during a visit to the Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, at his home in Sampou, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

Speaking on behalf of the NWC, the party’s National Treasurer, Ahmed Yayare, attributed this optimism to widespread discontent across the nation caused by persistent economic challenges.

Yayare emphasised that the PDP remains the most credible opposition party capable of unseating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections, saying that the future of democracy in Nigeria could be at stake if the PDP does not assume leadership.
