Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the ongoing Ondo State governorship election, has exercised his voting rights.

He cast his ballot at Polling Unit 5, Ugbo Ward 4, Ilaje Local Government Area, at approximately 8:50 a.m.

After voting, the governor praised the electoral process, describing it as seamless, orderly, and transparent.

Speaking to journalists, he commended the organisation and efficiency at the polling station, expressing optimism about the conduct of the election.

“It’s encouraging to see the exercise going smoothly here, I am hopeful that this is reflective of the experience across the state,” he said.

Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasised the importance of accessibility for voters, calling for fair opportunities for all eligible individuals to exercise their democratic rights.

“I want to call on all officials and security personnel to ensure that every supporter and citizen is allowed to cast their vote freely and without obstruction,” he added.

The governor commended the security agencies for effectively addressing potential threats during the election, emphasizing that Ondo State remains among the most peaceful in Nigeria.

“We have a history of conducting peaceful elections, and I am confident this one will follow suit,” he stated.

He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), expressing trust in the transparency of the process.

Although he acknowledged the timely arrival of officials at his polling unit, he admitted he could not speak for other locations.
