The 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has reaffirmed his belief in the limitless potential of Nigerian youths, emphasising their capacity to excel globally when supported with the right leadership and opportunities.
The former Governor of Anambra State in a statement on his X page Monday highlighted the achievements of two exceptional Nigerian teenagers who are making waves both locally and internationally.
He celebrated 12-year-old Eniola Shokunbi, a Nigerian girl in Connecticut, USA, who designed an air filter aimed at reducing the spread of airborne diseases in schools.
Shokunbi’s innovative project has received $11.5 million in approved funding from the Connecticut State Bond Commission, underscoring her brilliance and creativity.
Obi also lauded David Akiogbe, a 15-year-old Nigerian boy who achieved an impressive 1580 score on his Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT). His exceptional academic performance has been validated by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), paving the way for his future on the global academic stage.
“These inspiring stories represent the untapped potential of millions of Nigerian children, many of whom remain out of school due to the negligence of leaders,” Obi said.
