Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, has signed the 2025 budget of N689.4 billion, titled the “Budget of ASSURED Prosperity,” into law.

In October, The New Daily Prime reported that Mr Diri presented the budget to the State House of Assembly, highlighting his administration’s plans for enhanced socio-economic and infrastructural development.

The governor announced the signing in a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page, noting that his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, and other top government officials were present at the signing ceremony.

“This afternoon, I signed into law a budget of six hundred and ninety nine billion, five hundred and seventy three million, one hundred and sixty seven thousand, five hundred and ninety two Naira (N699, 573,167,592.00) only for 2025 as passed by the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

“I wish to appreciate Mr. Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, the Principal Officers and other members of the State House of Assembly for their diligence in the timely passage of the Appropriation bill”, said the governor.

Diri further emphasised his administration’s dedication to transparently implementing the budget to drive economic growth, create jobs, generate power, and complete ongoing legacy projects across the state.
