President Bola Tinubu inaugurated Nigeria’s 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Emblem on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, expressing gratitude to the military for their role in defending the nation.

Addressing attendees, Tinubu highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting and honoring military personnel, especially those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s peace and unity.

The event saw significant donations to the Armed Forces Remembrance Appeal Fund as the Federal Executive Council, represented by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, pledged N500 million.

Also, Senate President Godswill Akpabio contributed N200 million on behalf of the National Assembly, while security heads, including Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa and Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, donated N50 million on behalf of the military and police.

Tinubu commended the military’s recent achievements in safeguarding national security, emphasizing that peace and development depend on a secure nation.

“It is impossible to promote peace and development without security,” he stated, lauding the armed forces’ dedication to Nigeria’s unity, stability, and progress.
