The L.A wildfires, which began on January 7th, have engulfed large portions of the Los Angeles area, causing widespread destruction. This has forced thousands of residents, celebrities inclusive to leave their homes.

Among the 80,000+ displaced are celebrities who have called the region home for years. Some, like Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, Anna Faris, Ricki Lake, Cary Elwes, Cameron Mathison, and Spencer and Heidi Pratt, have lost their homes. Others, including Mario Lopez, Molly Sims, Kid Cudi, and Bebe Rexha, have evacuated as the fires continue to spread.

The initial fire erupted in Pacific Palisades on Tuesday, leaving residents like Maria Shriver heartbroken as she described the devastation on Instagram: “Heartbreaking, devastating, beyond belief. Everything is gone. Our neighborhood, our restaurants. All our friends have lost everything.”

The Eaton Fire (also known as the Close Fire) ignited Tuesday evening, rapidly expanding to 10,000 acres across Pasadena and Altadena.

The Woodley Fire followed shortly after, consuming 75 acres. Northward, the Hurst Fire, reaching 500 acres, also erupted. The Tyler Fire, west of L.A. near Coachella, was partially contained.

A new fire, the Kenneth Fire, is under investigation as arson and is rapidly growing.The catastrophe has led to the postponement of numerous entertainment events and filmings.

As of Wednesday evening, the death toll remains unknown, but the fires have already been deemed the most destructive in Los Angeles County history, with over 1,100 structures destroyed and 27,000 acres impacted.

Mel Gibson

The Mad Max actor has lost his Malibu home in the recent Palisades Fire. In an interview with News Nation’s Elizabeth Vargas, Gibson described the experience as “devastating,” stating that the neighborhood was “completely toasted.”

Gibson revealed that he was in Austin, Texas, recording the Joe Rogan podcast when the fire erupted. Upon returning home, he discovered that his residence had been destroyed.

Despite the loss, Gibson displayed a touch of gallows humor, remarking, “Well, at least I haven’t got any of those pesky plumbing problems anymore.”

Gibson confirmed that his wife, Rosalind Ross, and their son, Lars, were able to escape safely, along with all their chickens. While acknowledging the loss of photographs, files, and cherished memories, he expressed gratitude for the support he has received from the community.

In the interview, Gibson also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom, stating, “I had my stuff there, and it’s all like, I’ve been relieved from the burden of my stuff, because it’s all in cinders.”

Oscar-winning actor, Anthony Hopkins has reportedly suffered a devastating loss. Images published by major news outlets, including the Daily Mail, People, and TMZ, show his historic colonial home in Pacific Palisades reduced to rubble after a fire.

This is not the first time Hopkins has experienced such a loss. In 2000, a fire destroyed his London home. More recently, in 2018, his Palisades residence narrowly escaped the Woolsey Fire, which devastated neighboring properties.

Paris Hilton

The actress revealed on Wednesday that her Malibu home was destroyed by recent L.A wildfires. She learned of the devastation while watching news coverage.

Hilton shared the emotional impact of the loss, stating that the home held significant sentimental value as it was where her son, Phoenix, “took his first steps.”

Hilton expressed empathy for others affected by the fires, acknowledging the widespread heartbreak caused by the loss of homes.

In 2021, Hilton purchased a 30,000-square-foot mid-century beach house in Malibu for over $8 million, according to celebrity and real estate news sources.

A news clip shared by Hilton on social media showcased the extent of the damage, depicting buildings along the same road reduced to mere frames.

Multiple media sources, including NBC News, have disseminated visual evidence of a fire that reportedly destroyed the Pacific Palisades residence of married actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

The model took to social media to share her emotional experience as she prepared to evacuate her home, which she shares with husband John Legend, due to the raging L.A wildfires.

Posting a photo of herself packing a large black bag, Chrissy confessed that the situation felt “surreal.” She expressed her fear, admitting she was “very scared,” and had previously described the wildfires as a “hellscape.”

Tina Knowles

Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles has shared a heartfelt message after losing her Malibu home to the L.A Wildfires wildfires. In a poignant post, she shared a photo of a stunning sunset from her former property, describing it as her “favorite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place.”

Tina expressed her gratitude to the brave firefighters and first responders who risked their lives to save countless others, saying: “God Bless… the brave men and women in our fire department… We thank you for your dedication and bravery.” She acknowledged that the situation could have been much worse without their selfless efforts.
