The Lagos State Ministry of Housing has announced its readiness to collaborate with the state’s National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to intensify the fight against the sale and use of hard drugs, particularly within government-owned housing estates.
This commitment was revealed during a courtesy visit by an NDLEA delegation led by the Commander of the Lagos State Strategic Command, Abubakar Wali.

The visit was aimed at exploring avenues for mutual cooperation to enhance community safety and promote healthy living among residents of government estates.
The Permanent Secretary, Abdulhafis Gbolahan Toriola, welcomed the NDLEA delegation, commending the agency for its consistent dedication to combating drug abuse and related crimes across the country.
He also acknowledged the agency’s active role in creating public awareness and in the rehabilitation of drug users.
Toriola reiterated the ministry’s willingness to partner with the NDLEA to curb the activities of drug peddlers while simultaneously supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of drug addicts into society.
He further emphasised that the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is committed to eradicating drug-related activities among youths, seeing it as a crucial component of its broader agenda for sustainable development and community wellness.
In response, Wali, expressed his appreciation for the ministry’s openness to collaboration.
