President Bola Tinubu has issued a directive to the Nigeria Police Force to ensure the protection of local government secretariats in Rivers State following recent threats of attacks by arsonists and vandals. The President’s order comes amid rising concerns over the safety of government properties in the region.

In a statement released today, the President emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order while safeguarding public infrastructure. “The Nigeria Police must act swiftly and decisively to prevent any further destruction of local government facilities in Rivers State,” Tinubu said.

This directive follows reports of unrest in several areas, with some local government secretariats targeted by individuals attempting to disrupt public services. The President’s move is expected to restore calm and prevent any escalation of violence in the affected areas.

The Nigeria Police Force is now mobilizing additional personnel to bolster security at key locations across Rivers State, with local authorities also called upon to cooperate in ensuring peace and stability.
