Vice President Kashim Shettima today departed Abuja for Dubai, United Arab Emirates,(UAE), to represent President Bola Tinubu at the commissioning of a Nigerian owned $315 million oil production and storage facility.

In a statement, Stanley Nkwocha, the Vice President spokesperson, said the project, owned by Oriental Energy Limited, a Nigerian oil and gas company, will be commissioned tomorrow.

Following the Dubai event, Shettima will travel to Saudi Arabia to perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) in the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah from December 16 to 19, 2024.

While in Jeddah, he will also meet with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) on December 20, 2024, to discuss co-financing for Nigeria’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ Phase II) and to strengthen the coordination of IsDB-supported projects in Nigeria.

The Vice President is expected to return to Nigeria on or before December 21, 2024.

Meanwhile, before his departure, Shettima participated in the wedding of Fatiha Bagudu, son of the Minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, and his bride, Amina Tatari Ali. The ceremony was held at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.

Upon arrival in Kaduna, the Vice President was welcomed by Governor Uba Sani. He also observed Juma’at prayers at the Sultan Bello Mosque before attending the wedding.

He was accompanied by prominent figures, including Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, and Special Adviser to the President on General Duties, Aliyu Modibbo Umar.

Other notable attendees included Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Jigawa State Governor Umar Namadi, Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris, Sokoto State Governor Ahmad Aliyu, and business magnate Aliko Dangote.,among others.
