Lagos State First Lady, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, has called on Muslims to embrace humility and steadfast devotion as the holy month of Ramadan nears its end.
She made this appeal during a goodwill message at the Lailatul-Qadr Eve Prayer, held at the State House Mosque Complex, Ikeja.
Addressing the congregation, Mrs Sanwo-Olu emphasised the significance of Lailatul-Qadr, also known as the Night of Majesty, regarded as the holiest night in Islam.
She encouraged Muslim faithful to seek divine mercy, forgiveness, and guidance while embodying virtues such as kindness, patience, and humility.
“As we approach the final days of Ramadan, let us extend acts of charity, reflect on the teachings of Islam, and continue to pray for the progress of Lagos State and the well-being of its people,” she urged.
The event also featured a lecture by Sheikh Engr. Luqman Balogun of the Conference of Islamic Organisations (CIO), Lagos, who underscored humility as a fundamental trait of a devoted Muslim.

According to him, humility fosters stronger relationships, personal growth, and resilience in life’s challenges.
He clarified that true humility is not self-deprecation but a conscious acknowledgment of one’s blessings with gratitude and compassion.

They joined Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife in deep supplication and devotion, reaffirming their commitment to faith and service.
