The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has refuted claims that retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Parradang, was kidnapped and murdered.

Authorities have clarified that investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of his death.

According to Josephine Adeh, FCT Police spokesperson on Tuesday, Mr. Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel at Area 3 Junction on March 3, 2025, at around 12:00 PM.

Adeh noted that late Parradang arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid N22,000 for a one-night stay.

Shortly after, he was visited by a female guest, whom he instructed the hotel room attendant to escort to his room. The woman left the hotel at approximately 4:00 PM.

Mr. Parradang was not seen again until 4:00 AM on March 4, 2025, when a concerned military officer friend traced him to the hotel.

Upon arriving, the officer and hotel receptionist entered his room and found him unresponsive, seated in a chair. The Durumi Police Station was immediately notified.

“The Durumi Police Station was notified and officers promptly arrived at the scene, secured the area, took photographs, and collected all relevant evidence to preserve the integrity of the crime scene.

“The body has been transferred to the National Hospital for necessary procedures, and hotel staff are currently cooperating with police investigations. Effort is in top gear to effect the arrest of the lady,” the police statement read.

The FCT Police Command has urged the public and media to avoid spreading misinformation, emphasizing that there is no evidence supporting kidnapping allegations.

However, to this end, authorities assured that a thorough investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact circumstances of his death.

“We urge the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping, that may incite fear or panic. The FCT Police Command is committed to conducting a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mr. Parradang’s death.

“We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work to ensure justice is served,” said Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer, FCT Police Command.

Further updates will be provided as investigations progress, and the public is encouraged to direct any inquiries to the FCT Police Public Relations Office.
