PDP reschedules NEC meeting to strengthen unity ahead of Ondo Guber elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced late Tuesday that its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, October 24, has been postponed to November 28, 2024.

The decision was revealed in a statement from the party’s Governors’ Forum, led by Bala Mohammed, the Governor of Bauchi State, following a consultative meeting involving various party stakeholders.

According to the statement, the postponement aims to ensure the PDP approaches the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections on November 16 with the necessary unity and strength to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government in the state.

The meeting emphasized the importance of unity within the party, urging members to avoid divisive rhetoric that could weaken ongoing efforts to solidify the PDP’s position as the primary opposition ahead of the 2027 elections.

As the party gears up for the critical gubernatorial race, leaders reiterated their commitment to collaboration and strategic planning, reinforcing the message that unity is key to overcoming challenges and achieving electoral success.
