The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has highlighted the importance of focus and fervent prayers during the 27th Holy Ghost Congress of the RCCG, themed “Onward Christian Soldiers.”
The event, which began on Monday night at the Redemption Camp, witnessed an impressive turnout of worshippers. In his welcome address, Adeboye urged participants to pay close attention to every message and to pray like never before, emphasizing that the Congress would propel them forward spiritually, physically, emotionally, and materially.
Reflecting on the challenges faced in 2024, Adeboye expressed gratitude for God’s preservation and called on worshippers to embrace their roles as soldiers in Christ’s army.
“This Congress is different, as reflected in the theme. It is both a call and a charge—to those already in the Lord’s army and those ready to join,” he said.
He challenged the attendees, asking if they were ready to march forward with God leading the way.
The opening service featured vibrant praise and worship sessions led by the RCCG All Stars and the church’s over 2,000-member mass choir. These sessions set a joyous and reverent tone for the Congress.
In his message, “Praise as a Weapon of Warfare,” Adeboye emphasised the power of gratitude in achieving spiritual victories.
He stated, “Praise is a weapon of warfare. When you praise God for what He has done, He will do more. Without gratitude, future battles may not see divine intervention.”
He reassured the worshippers that consistent praise lays the foundation for lasting victories.
Since its inception in 1998, with the historic Lekki 98 gathering, the Holy Ghost Congress has grown into a major annual event, drawing worshippers from across the globe.
Adeboye noted that this year’s Congress would continue the legacy of previous gatherings, offering participants a unique opportunity to renew their faith, hear God’s voice, and strengthen their spiritual journey.
