Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has urged the Ebira community in Ondo State to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the upcoming November 16 election.
Governor Ododo made this appeal on Saturday in Owo, where he addressed a gathering of Ebira indigenes.
Speaking on behalf of the community, he emphasised their commitment to backing Governor Aiyedatiwa and affirmed their unified decision to vote for the APC candidate.
He said: “We, the entire Ebira community across Ondo State, have resolved to support and vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming election in this State.
“Governor Aiyedatiwa, the Ebira community stands with you; we are here in solidarity because we believe in continuity. Since the passing of the late Governor Akeredolu, you have upheld his legacies and continued the good work he started.
“You have been tested and trusted, and that is why we are 100 per cent behind you. The Ebira people are solid with you, and we will ensure victory come November 16.”
Additionally, the Ebira community in the state endorsed Governor Aiyedatiwa as their preferred candidate.
In response, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude for their support, commending President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to advancing Ondo State’s economic development.
“President Tinubu has continuously shown interest in our state’s progress. Since he assumed office, he has never wavered in his support for us,” Governor Aiyedatiwa noted.
He also praised Governor Ododo for his exemplary leadership, acknowledging his ability to govern the state by blending the vigour of youth with the wisdom of experience.
Reflecting on the APC primary election in Ondo State, which was chaired by Governor Ododo, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his confidence in the integrity and transparency of the upcoming electoral process in November.
Governor Aiyedatiwa conveyed his gratitude for the unwavering support of the Ebira community and assured them of their representation and inclusivity in his administration.
Additionally, the deputy governor of Ondo State, Olayide Adelami, whose local government hosted the rally, expressed his gratitude to Governor Ododo for his steadfast support of Aiyedatiwa and the APC.
“Having left your state to come to mobilise your people for the success of our party in the forthcoming election, it is obvious that you truly love our party and my principal, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
“Today, you have shown commitment to the economic development of your people both at home and away from home; this is the quality of a good leader, and our administration shall not relent in the recognition and inclusion of non-indigenes in decision-making in this state”, Adelami said.
