On Monday, Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), inaugurated the party’s National Campaign Council for the upcoming governorship election in Ondo State.
The ceremony, held in Akure, the state capital, appointed Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as Chairman and former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege as Secretary.
The event was attended by Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun and Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, who were both appointed as chairmen of sub-committees within the campaign council.
In his address, Ganduje emphasised that the APC’s national leadership is committed to securing a decisive victory in the Ondo governorship election on November 16.
He urged committee members to dedicate their full efforts to the campaign, ensuring a successful outcome for the party.
Accepting his role as Chairman of the campaign council, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed optimism, stating that he believes the people of Ondo State will show overwhelming support for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in the election.
“When I saw the compendium of all Governor Aiyedatiwa has been doing, he’s doing and intends to do, I was impressed. This shows that he’s the best man for the job and we are presenting the best for the people of Ondo State.
“If you look at the composition of the National Campaign Council, you will see that our party is serious about winning the election and on behalf of the Council, I want to promise that we will run an issue-based campaign and there will be a free, fair and credible election in Ondo State on November 16.”
