As the gubernatorial campaign in Ondo State intensifies ahead of the November 16 election, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa continued his tour on Thursday, visiting several communities in Akoko South East Local Government Area.
According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, the governor reassured the people that his administration is committed to ensuring equitable distribution of developmental projects across the state.
He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and unwavering support he received from the residents, emphasising that Akoko South East would not be left behind in his agenda for progress.
During his visit to the palace of Oba Akinyele Akinsunloye Oyolola, the Olisua of Isua Akoko, Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted his dedication to inclusive governance, promising that every region would continue to have a voice in decision-making.
He further assured the monarch that security remains a central focus of his administration, with ongoing efforts to safeguard all communities across the state.
“We recognize the importance of security, and that is why we have continued to equip our security outfits with operational vehicles, especially the Amotekun Corps and we are working closely with other security agencies to ensure the safety of our people and protect livelihoods across the state.
“We understand the significance of good roads for trade and movement. The Isua road will receive attention soon, and we are committed to upgrading healthcare services to provide better care for the people of the local government.”
During the visit, Oba Akinyele Akinsunloye praised the governor for including members of the community in his administration, emphasizing that such inclusivity gives the community every reason to fully support his re-election.
“Your Excellency, we appreciate the progress your administration has made so far, especially in appointing sons and daughters of our council area into your administration. This gesture has given us a sense of belonging, and we thank you for recognizing our people”, the monarch said, before presenting the needs of the people to the Governor.
The governor, during key stops at Ipe Akoko, Ipesi Akoko, and Ifira Akoko, urged the people of Akoko South East to channel their enthusiastic display of support into decisive electoral action in the upcoming November 16 gubernatorial election.
While addressing the crowd, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude: “I am deeply moved by the overwhelming love and support I see here today. This turnout reflects the trust you have in the progress we’ve achieved together. However, I ask that this love doesn’t end with today’s reception. On November 16, I need you to convert it into votes.”
“This election is our opportunity to keep moving forward. I appeal to every one of you: let’s consolidate our gains by voting to continue on this path of development.
“This election is a defining moment. I urge you to protect the progress we have started by standing with us at the polls.”
