Omoyele Sowore, a prominent Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress has demonstrated his patriotism and concerns for the citizens of Nigeria by joining the peaceful protest in Lagos.

Sowore passionately addressed the protester for being one of the organizers of the protest, he arrived at the venue of the protest at 8:50 am at the Ikeja Underbridge area, Lagos state.
However, while addressing the pressmen he declared that the protest was meant to take Nigeria to her “promise land”.

He further professed that the protest was meant against bad governance.
Sowore furthermore challenged Nigerians if they had given the government enough chances, giving a clue about how former president Muhammadu Buhari abused the extra time given to him to fix things up.

“This is one of the actions that will take us to the promised land. We did it in August and today is a symbolic day to reject their own independence as we want our independence.”

“Have we not tried enough? We have no time left. We gave more time, look at what Buhari did with more time. We gave them more time they bought themselves a private jet, we gave them more time, they bought a new house, they increased fuel price. We gave him more time they put us in darkness.
“We gave them more time they gave us minimum wage and gave themselves a maximum wage. Let them resign, that is how we will know they actually understand how people feel this time around.” he said

The demonstrators, however, converged at the Ikeja underbridge area, Lagos. As the nation celebrates its 64th anniversary. On Tuesday morning.
The protesters are rightly guided by security agencies, such as policemen, the Civil Defence Corps, Lagos neighborhood safety corps and Nigeria security
