The national general secretary of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), Otunba Ayobami Mudashir Olabiyi, popularly known as “Bobo B,” died in Ibadan, Oyo State, today after a brief illness. He was the former Oyo State governor of TAMPAN before being elected as the national general secretary of TAMPAN. Bose Akinola, the current Oyo State governor of TAMPAN, confirmed the news of his death. She expressed her sorrow, saying, “It is unexpected. May Almighty Allah grant him a home better than his own and a family better than his own. May your soul rest in peace, Bobo B.”

His passing has left a significant void in Nollywood, especially within the Yoruba film community, where he made remarkable contributions.

The actor was reportedly scheduled to be on a movie set in Oyo last month but was unable to attend due to his health.

Bobo B was receiving treatment at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan at the time of his death. Ayobami Olabiyi is known for Adarugudu (2020), Eewa (2022), and Asife (2016).
