President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria is set to depart from Abuja to Beijing on Thursday, August 29, for a significant official visit, his office confirmed today. The journey to China, aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and the Asian giant, will include a brief layover in the United Arab Emirates.
During his visit, President Tinubu is scheduled to meet with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping. The discussions are expected to focus on a variety of bilateral issues, with particular emphasis on enhancing trade relations and increasing Chinese investment in Nigeria.
In addition to his diplomatic engagements, President Tinubu will also meet with prominent Chinese business leaders. These meetings, which will take place on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, are anticipated to explore new partnerships and opportunities that could benefit Nigeria’s economy.
