The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has disclosed that the agency, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, was able to rescue five people from the collapsed building in Ibadan.

NEMA made this declaration via a statement made available to New Daily Prime on Thursday.

The incident that occurred at the Jegede area of Ibadan yesterday claimed the lives of more than 10 people.

Mr Kadiri Olanrewaju, South West Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, told newsmen that the agency received a distress alert on Thursday.

He stated, “With the combined effort of response stakeholders five (5) persons were rescued alive, which include One (1) Adult Male, Two (2) Adult Female and Two (2) Children.

“These victims were carried to Mercyland clinic and maternity center for immediate medical care. Unfortunately, Ten (10) persons lost their lives in the incident.

“One adult victim has been discharged from the hospital, while one victim was unconscious and has been transferred to Adeoyo General Hospital at Temetu, Ibadan.”
