Donald Trump and wife Melania have arrived at St John’s Episcopal Church for a prayer service ahead of his inauguration ceremony at midday (5pm GMT).
The president-elect’s motorcade departed Blair House, a guest house of the sitting US president located in Washington DC, a short while ago.
Mr Trump’s family took their places inside the church before the arrival of the soon-to-be president.
After the service, Mr Trump and his wife Melania will be greeted at the executive mansion by Joe Biden and the first lady for the customary tea, before making their way to the Capitol together.
After being sworn into office, Mr Trump is later expected to use his his inaugural address to call for a “revolution of common sense”.
“I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the start of a thrilling new era of national success. A tide of change is sweeping the country,” the president-elect is due to say, according to an excerpt of his speech seen by The Wall Street Journal.
It comes as Mr Trump vowed at a victory rally in Washington DC yesterday to repeal swathes of Biden-era legislation and implement a slew of executive orders on his first day in office.
